Fr. Douglas al-Bazi loves being a priest. The gentle Chaldean from Baghdad loves the flock he shepherds in Erbil, Iraq. He has witnessed the bombing of his parish church, was shot by Al-Qaeda militants (the AK-47 bullet is still in his leg)…

Pro-Life Activist David Daleiden Appears in Court Over Planned Parenthood Video Sting

SEE FULL ARTICLE HERE:  http://www.lifenews.com/2016/04/26/david-daleidens-attorneys-file-motions-to-dismiss-planned-parenthood-lawsuit-against-him/

Here’s more from the pro-life legal group:

Life Legal has filed a motion to dismiss the case of Planned Parenthood v. Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and David Daleiden. In addition, six amicus—or “friend of the court”—briefs were submitted on behalf of Daleiden in the National Abortion Federation’s lawsuit against CMP. A seventh, neutral, brief filed by a diverse group of constitutional scholars discusses the critical First Amendment issues at play in that appeal.

The amicus briefs were provided by the following organizations: American Catholic Lawyers Association, Charlotte Lozier Institute, Justice and Freedom Fund, the law firm of Peace | Crowell, the Attorney Generals of 14 states, Susan B. Anthony List, and several Members of Congress.

The briefs cover a diverse range of issues, including the American public’s “unfettered right in our society to have access to important information about controversial matters,” such as abortion. Judge William Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California recently granted NAF’s request for an injunction to prohibit public access to video evidence of Planned Parenthood abortion providers discussing trafficking in fetal body parts while at a NAF conference.

The district court’s ruling was based in part on NAF’s allegations that the videos were “deceptively edited.” The amicus brief signed by six Members of Congress analyzes the findings of an independent forensic report which irrefutably established that the videos were not manipulated, altered, doctored, or misleadingly edited in any way.

Clearly defining when the pope can speak infallibly and when he can’t. In view of Pope Francis’ many unclear statements and media misquotes, it is important for every Catholic to understand this.

To clarify, I fully submit to the authority of His Holiness and believe him to be a holy man. But I am not blind to the fact that his Pontificate has been marked with much confusion, with many people falling into schism because of it, which is why I feel it necessary to clarify the parameters of papal infallibility in hope of placing a few minds at ease.

Sparks Evident at Fertilization
April 27, 2016
Bill Donohue comments on a new study by researchers at Northwestern University on what happens at conception:
The results of this study, published in Scientific Reports, are encouraging, but they are also cause for concern.
The researchers found that the moment the sperm and egg meet, they give off a bright flash of light. The microscopic zinc sparks are captured on video, providing graphic evidence of the beginning of human life. Due to legal restrictions, eggs were not fertilized with sperm; instead, they were injected with sperm enzyme.
This study is encouraging because it offers a birds-eye view of the “fireworks” that are emitted at the first stage of life, thus undercutting the pro-abortion position. After all, if conception is nothing more than the existence of “blobs,” or “material,” then how do the abortion-rights enthusiasts account for the light-emitting molecule probes that occur when the sperm and egg meet? Magic?
The researchers also found that the brighter the spark, the better the quality of the egg. This is cause for concern. As one of the senior researchers told the press, “This means if you can look at the zinc spark at the time of fertilization, you will know immediately which eggs are the good ones to transfer to in vitro fertilization.”
So what are we going to do with the eggs that emit a low-intensity light? Discard them (the way we do now)? What if the spark is a false alarm? In other words, what if the bright flash proves deceiving, and the parents subsequently learn that their baby is not Olympic healthy?
Science tells us what we can do—it does not tell us what to do. That’s where ethical guidelines are needed, and no institution has thought this issue through better than the Catholic Church. Embryos are not “stuff”—they are how we all began.

Truth2Freedom's Blog

"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
