ROME, May 27, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – As the battle for the very soul of the family and all its members intensifies around the world with the push for sexual anarchy veiled as “education,” the undermining of what is truly masculine and feminine in the name of “gender rights,” and the destruction of marriage masquerading as “equality,” a spiritual leader who has suffered under the terror of a communist regime has laid out a survival plan for Catholic parents who find themselves in a secular, relativistic, and hostile environment but who simply want to raise their children to become future citizens of heaven.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive interview earlier this month that Catholic parents must take seriously their “first duty” of raising their children in the faith if their children are to overcome the negative and even hostile influences that are pressing in from all sides and seeking to destroy.

In a wide-ranging interview that covered his experience as a Catholic boy growing up under communism, his thoughts on what it means to be a Catholic family today, his thoughts on education, bad parishes and dioceses run by agenda-driven priests and bishops, as well as his views on how faithful laity should address concerns about Pope Francis, the bishop laid out twelve steps that he said Catholic parents must take to safeguard their families and their children.

Bishop Schneider said that to survive in a heretical wasteland, Catholic parents must:

See persecution as a grace from God for becoming purified and strengthened, not simply as something negative.
Become rooted yourself in the Catholic faith through study of the Catechism.
Protect your family’s integrity above all else.
Catechize your children as your first duty.
Pray with your children daily, such as litanies and the Rosary.
Turn your home into a domestic church.
In the absence of a priest and Sunday Mass, make spiritual communion.
Withdraw your family from a parish spreading error and attend a faithful parish, even if you have to travel far.
Withdraw your children from school if they are encountering immoral danger in sex-ed.
If you cannot withdraw your children, establish a coalition of parents to fight for that right.
Fight for parental rights using available democratic tools.
Be prepared for persecution in protecting your children (see first point).
The bishop said that being a Catholic “family” in the truest sense of the word is the key to survival.

Calls for institution of Eucharistic adoration ‘in all of Amazonia’

Source: Bishop Schneider, Church Leaders Slam Amazon Synod as ‘Ideological’ Tool

“Turning to the Spirit of the World
“For two thousand years, all peoples, and even barbarians, were able to use the grace of Christ to educate their own sons to a conjugal priesthood modeled after Jesus Christ,” he wrote, suggesting it is disingenuous to imply that indigenous Amazonians are incapable of doing the same.
Bishop Schneider noted that “supporters of a married Amazonian clergy, who are almost all of European and non-indigenous descent,” are not concerned with “the true spiritual welfare of the Amazonian believers,” but with “the implementation of their own ideological agenda, which is a married clergy in Europe, and then to have it in the whole Latin Church.”

“Earlier this week, Cdl. Gerhard Müller, former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, denounced the synod’s working document as “false teaching,” saying it represents “a radical U-turn in the hermeneutics of Catholic theology.”
Earlier, in a July 11 interview with La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, Müller warned that the synod “is a pretext to change the Church,” asserting that Rome was selected as the site for the October gathering in order to “emphasize the beginning of a new Church.”

“Respected theologian Msgr. Nicola Bux, consulter to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, told Italian blogger Sabino Paciolla late last month that the synod is an attempt to “create another church” and to fashion a “new dogma.”

“In a June 22 interview with LifeSiteNews, Peruvian-born liberation theology expert Julio Loredo, president of the Italian chapter of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP), denounced the synod as a “scheme” designed to alter the Church “according to the most radical versions of liberation theology — the so-called indigenist and ecological theology.”

Notre_Dame_fire_2_-_GettyImages_810_500_75_s_c1

“Notre Dame is not only the most symbolic cultural and religious sign for the Catholic Church in France. Given that France bears the title “eldest daughter of the Church,” her main cathedral also has deep cultural and religious significance for the entire Catholic world.
The destruction of a visible sign of such vast proportion as the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris also contains an unmistakable spiritual message. The fire of Notre Dame is without doubt a powerful and stirring sign which God is giving to His Church in our day. It is a cri de coeur for authentic conversion, first and foremost among the Shepherds of the Church. The fire has largely destroyed Notre Dame, a centuries-old masterpiece of the Catholic Faith. This is a symbolic and highly evocative representation of what has happened in the life of the Church over the last fifty years, as people have witnessed a conflagration of the Church’s most precious spiritual masterpieces, i.e., the integrity and beauty of the Catholic Faith, the Catholic liturgy and Catholic moral life, especially among priests.
The climax of this decades-long spiritual conflagration has manifested itself in the clerical sexual abuse scandals which have profoundly shaken the entire Church. Sadly, we must say that the handling of the clerical sexual abuse scandal has remained more or less on the level of emotional dismay. The true roots of this crisis have not been transparently disclosed, nor, consequently, have effective spiritual medicine and peremptory canonical norms been applied. In a recent and detailed essay, the former Pope Benedict XVI identified one of the most important roots of the abuse crisis, i.e. the loss of the true Faith, the prevalence of moral relativism, and the heterodox and unspiritual formation of seminarians. In reactions to the statement of the former Pope Benedict XVI one could observe an embarrassed silence — and even some indignant outcries — rumbling throughout the ranks of the establishment of liberal theologians and liberal clergy, who are the true spiritual arsonists in the Church today. They now consider the former Pope Benedict XVI to be a troublemaker whose blunt observations obstruct their incendiary work.
If the Shepherds of the Church will not recognize in the Notre Dame conflagration a Divine warning, they will be behaving like the people in Salvation History who did not recognize the warnings that God often gave them through the uncomfortable and unabashed words of the prophets, through natural catastrophes and various events. The tragedy of Notre Dame spontaneously brought to my mind the following words of Our Lord: “Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Lk 13: 4-5)”

“In an exclusive interview with LifeSite, Bishop Schneider expands on certain questions which arose in response to his essay: the authority of those theologians with whom he disagrees, the scope for debate in regard to this question, and the abuses which have arisen since the beginning of the last century from an exaggerated view of papal authority.”
