BLOGGER’S NOTE:  This blogger wishes she had heard this growing up during the “Kumbaya years.” I went to Catholic School in the 1970’s I’m lucky I lived through it. Especially when I came through the 1980’s and 1990’s.  The “courting years” when everyone was doing their own thing and shackin’ up.  The “fad” thing.  If your in Catholic High School or even Catholic Homeschooling this is an excellent You Tube Video by Father.

The Council of Trent stated: “Matrimony is a holy thing and is to be treated in a holy manner.” One way to see its holiness is by examining its place in the hierarchy of God’s plan. The Fathers and the Doctors of the Church as well as many subsequent teachings clearly show an connection between virginity/celibacy and holy matrimony with virginity and celibacy being placed above and considered more excellent than marriage. When virginity and celibacy are in place, they keep marriage in its proper place. They elevate marriage. They help keep marriage holy. But, sad to say, most today do not appreciate virginity…and as a result, marriage suffers a reduction and impoverishment. We are in a huge tug of war on the matter of holy matrimony as we have never been heretofore…and we are losing the battle because we are lacking our immoveable anchor … celibacy and virginity. What better way to prepare for Lent and Easter than to listen to conferences from a monk about prayer? In fact, a Benedictine monk is uniquely qualified to teach this valuable skill, since he spends so many hours a day in prayer.

noceasing

In early October 2013, Fr. Cassian traveled to St. Benedict’s Abbey in Still River, MA to give ten conferences to their monastic community. A common thread through his talks is “praying without ceasing”, but we can all learn much from his great wisdom and experience. Treat yourself to these free talks and use them as a way to improve your prayer life this Lent.

These media files are Penanceware, which require that you do one of the following: (1) $1.00 via Paypal (http://www.sensustraditionis.org/inde…), (2) offer up a decade of the Rosary, or (3) perform some form of penance for the intentions of Fr. Truth2Freedom's Blog

"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
