Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7
Our Heavenly Father cares about us. He knows our future like we knew our past. One thing He doesn’t want us to do is to worry about things we can’t do, and those we can. Jesus said “don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” God knows you need a job. He knows you need a child. He understands everything you are going through. He knows that you need increase in everything you do. He knows what will happen in your life tomorrow, next week, next month, and even next year. Why do you worry about the little things you can’t fix with your strength? Give all your worries and care to God, for he cares about you. Jesus said it is unbelievers who allow thoughts about their future, job, accommodation, food, marriage, child bearing, etc dominate their thoughts.
Carrying your worries, stress, problems, and daily struggles by yourself shows that you have not trusted God fully with your life. When you trust God, you give all your worries and cares to him. When you trust God, you wake in the morning and say Father I don’t know how this can be but I am giving everything to you. Philippians 4:6-7 says “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” That is how you give all your worries and cares to God.
When you choose not to give all your worries and cares to God, that is when depression, fear, high blood pressure, and all sort of sicknesses come in. this is because as you think about how to get things done your way, Satan comes in to steal your joy, happiness, and strength. God wants you to place all your burdens on him, and he will take care of you. As we have started this year, it is my prayer that we give all our worries and cares to the Lord. He cares for us, and He will take care of us. He will not permit us to slip and fall. He is a covenant keeping God.

“With the timing of a professional comedian, this diminutive “little old lady” shines a very funny light on the foibles of aging, to the delight of an audience filled with senior-care experts.

A friend of the couple who founded Home Instead Senior Care, Mary Maxwell was asked to give the invocation at the company’s 2009 Convention. Initially it seemed like a normal prayer, but it soon took a very funny turn. Her deadpan delivery and lines like …This is the first time I’ve ever been old… and it just sort of crept up on me … had everyone rolling in the aisles.
