Translated from the French article after this article into English:

For several years, the report has been scathing: persecuting a Christian is the favorite game of some. This terror is seen all over the world, in China and in North Korea, the heirs of the glorious hours of the Communist powers continue the low works of their ascendants. In South America, anti-fascist guerrillas hunt down the faithful, whom they assimilate to the capitalist demon. In Africa, in Europe too, Christians are victims of persecution in the name of Islam. The latest figures from the Doors Open NGO Global Persecution of Christians Index are catastrophic. Whereas in 2018, 245 million people were victims of persecution worldwide, in 2019, 260 million people are persecuted because they are Christians … Even if this increase can be put into perspective in light of the drop in the number of people killed (4,305 in 2018, against 2,983 in 2019), it is clear that if we take a global vision and not country by country or region by region , Christians are the most persecuted in the world. Indeed, the crime committed against Rohingyas is unacceptable and unforgivable, but it is confined to Burma. Indeed, the conflicts between Sikhs and Muslims on the one hand and between Shiites and Sunnis in several countries, but also crimes against Yazidis, are just as heinous and unacceptable but they remain limited to a few countries.Every day, very many Christians are persecuted in the world, but as if by magic, a deafening silence covers the atrocities against the faithful; this silence is in the image of the western hypocrisy which bends in front of Islam. Indeed, while Colombia, which is overwhelmingly Catholic, comes in 41st position in the countries where the number of these persecutions is the highest, the top 5 counts Pakistan, Libya, Somalia and Afghanistan, or 4 countries out of 5 Muslims. Burkina Faso, Niger and Cameroon enter the classification and, more generally, persecution is increasing in Africa, especially in West, where, according to the report published by Doors Open, “Islamic extremism is the mechanism of persecution prevailing in these countries ”.Above all, let’s not stigmatize.

Christian Persecution in the Middleast

“In 2014, Amel Shimoun Nona, Chaldean Catholic archbishop of Mosul, Iraq, spoke to this issue. After escaping his archdiocese with a handful of parishioners, he issued a warning to the West, “Our sufferings today are the prelude of those you Europeans and Western Christians will also suffer in the near future.”

“No matter, the survey results should temper those who are now claiming that President Trump has opened Pandora’s box; he is doing what the people want. Moreover, that box was opened by Obama when he gave preferential treatment to Muslim refugees, victims who were themselves victimized by his disastrous foreign policy decisions.

Trump’s corrective is in direct response to these realities.”

“And, something I give higher and higher priority to is religious freedom,” he continued. “This freedom is part of our Bill of Rights; our freedom to live our faith with respect to our conscience and all that follows from that. This just doesn’t mean a right to worship in our churches, but to live our faith publicly without government intrusion.”

He explained, “It is what our country was built on. People came here looking for a free land where they could worship God and follow their consciences, without king or government interfering.”

He notes that Catholics “have to be prepared to suffer.”

“But, it’s not the first time the Church has suffered persecution,” he added. “Look at the martyrs in the early Church in Rome or in 16th- and 17th-century England under Queen Elizabeth. Jesus warned us about this

“I was surprised and grateful for the wide readership and support on an article I wrote here at the Register recently: Comfort Catholicism Has Got to Go. In it I argue that clergy and other leaders in the Church need to retool and prepare God’s people for increasing persecution and martyrdom. I note that the Church, both clergy and lay, is largely unprepared to meet the coming challenges to our faith and religious liberty, many of which are already here.”

BLOGGERS NOTE:  What the people don’t realize is that it has never escaped us.  Keep in mind our Lady said this at Lourdes, “I cant promise you happiness in this world but the next.”  She didn’t just mean Bernadette Soubirous.  She meant that for all of us.  She was  telling us about martyrdom in this lifetime.  The hardships and realities of being a Christian.  We must always be aware of this.  Bigotry against Catholics is still in good form today.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "...truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity--it is simply true and that is the end of it" - Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” - Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
