Hungarian Bishops Defend Life on Feast of Holy Innocents

The prelates alluded to the admonition of St. Matthew in verse 6:25 of his Gospel:
But be careful, dear Gentiles, we must not sin in order to alleviate ourselves, or to do evil in order to make it good. … The Creator will not forsake those who trust in Him! … Do not worry about your livelihood, what you eat or what you drink, or your body, what you put on! Ye shall seek first the kingdom of God, and the righteousness thereof, and ye shall receive all the rest of it.
They also pointed to the physical and psychological damage of abortion:
When pregnancy occurs, the entire maternal body switches to raising the fetus. … Blood circulation takes new paths to where the baby is to be born, and if this child is removed, they are suddenly brutally disturbed. The body has started to function, causing a shock to the mother’s body that is difficult to recover from and has damaging traces. Because conscience moves in parents, especially mothers … family peace is broken, and as often as a child born in the world corrects a bad marriage, it is just as often the case that the abandoned child spoils a good marriage.
Six million babies have been aborted since 1956 — almost as many as children born in Hungary during that period.

Texas Musicians Gave Up Celebrity Status To Defend The Preborn (Real Bonafide Heroes in My Book)

“The simple and evocative message of the song is that the preborn baby is fully human and deserving of Life. This message was controversial and polarizing as just one year previous, in 1973, the Supreme Court legalized abortion in all 50 states in the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. In this political environment, an overtly Pro-Life song was seen as career-damaging. Writing for CNS News, John Stonestreet explains:

“To put it mildly, this is not what their label, Warner Records, had in mind. After all, this was less than a year since Roe had been handed down, and abortion was, if nothing else, controversial. Add in the duo’s unapologetic and urgent plea for women contemplating abortion to “stop, think it over …” and it’s no surprise their record label had some concerns.”

“The Magical Birth Canal” cleverly exposed a fundamental abortion apologetic as ridiculous—the idea that your physical location has anything to do with your humanity or your value. “No Uterus, No Opinion” (which features Klassen explaining to me why I can’t have an opinion on an issue of human rights because I am a man) highlighted how bizarre it is to say that you can’t have an opinion on an injustice unless you’ve directly experienced it yourself. And if there is one thing abortion activists cannot stand, it is being made fun of.
